Reasons for using a Windows machine in general: cheaper laptops for the same specs. I haven't had issues at all on my Macbook and I put it through work in some very hot environments for over 5 hours. I used to DJ on a windows laptop and it was prone to overheating (then thermal throttling), as well as audio glitches. You'll often find most driver or problems on a Windows machine connecting to controllers are derived from issues with ASIO4All. Reasons for not using a Windows for DJing is issues with drivers, compatibility and functionality. It seems minor but it's great when you're using it at a gig to pull up tracks and it just works. I have never had a windows machine with a good trackpad. Throw in stellar battery life and a beautiful display and I was sold. That being said I use a Mac because i'm a programmer by day and the built in terminal functionality was what I wanted. I can imagine that Serato's fix is right around the corner as they just released 1.8 and so they can focus on fixing compatibility issues.

NI just released their drivers which fix most of their equipment and software. It's certainly not an Apple issue, it's moreso an issue on Serato and other DJ Equipment makers to get their drivers, software and equipment working on the new OS. It's just the nature of how the software is being updated. Heck, some HP printers wouldn't work on Windows 10 for a bit. In fact when Windows 10 came out alot of DJ equipment needed driver or software updates. Well the thing is that any OS update will introduce bugs.
